For those who are expecting the release of OpenGL 4.0, I believe that your wait is over, as Khronos Group has recently released their latest OpenGL version into the public. Basically, the latest OpenGL 4.0 format gives a whole new range of possibilities for existing and new graphics card, but most important, it is one of the most competitive competitor to Microsoft’s DirectX 11 technology.
Basically, the latest OpenGL 4.0 offers systems to capitalize towards the GPU design in the Fermi chip, which might be released sometime this month. Also, it even enhances desktop gaming experiences considerably.
So if you have been expecting the OpenGL 4.0 release, perhaps your wait is now over?
