AT&T Bringing WiFi to 20 NYC Parks |

Monday, 13 June 2011 |
If you live in New York, I believe that you must be highly aware of the government’s efforts in deploying a free wireless network around the city. One of the most noticeable efforts is none other than the free wireless service which can be found at NYC parks. Nevertheless, the wireless service would be enjoying yet another boost, whereby AT&T has made a pledge just recently that they will be bringing WiFi connectivity to at least 20 NYC parks.
Mayor Bloomberg and AT&T head honcho Randall Stephenson announced a 5-year plan to provide gratis WiFi at 26 locations in 26 of New York City’s parks. Apparently, the free AT&T WiFi service is already freely available at Battery Bosque in Battery Park, around the recreation center at Thomas Jefferson Park in East Harlem, and also at the the north-end playground in Joyce Kilmer Park in the Bronx. AT&T plans to roll out their service to another 23 locations this summer.
