As smartphones continue to be enhanced tremendously over the years, these devices are also creating privacy issues amongst users. In fact, there have been several lawsuits that centers on user privacy issues in the past, in which smartphone manufacturers like BlackBerry were sued for collecting user data discreetly, which violates one’s privacy rights.

Surprisingly, there is a group that wants their data to be collected, whereby more than 1,000 participants have allowed to give a group of University of Cambridge researchers to collect their data discreetly at the background, with the intention of ultimately looking at their smartphone usage patterns. Of course, the researchers have promised to strip all the necessary personal information from the data collected, in order to extend the privacy.
