Never mind the pros, never mind what you learn in school, and never mind your rivals, put a stake in the ground and describe the purpose of your web site. Then create its functionality. Don't get confused in layers of pretty design or pointless technology.
What describes as a good web site? Have you visited a web site trying to do something that you were supposed to be able to perform on that site and couldn't? That's not a good web site then.
Basically it’s in the practicality and design which makes a website perfect.
Ok then, what's a bad web site?
Have you seen a site that is so damn right ugly showing that the site owner has no sense of common sense or practically down right stupid?
Hideous font choices, strange colors, simple looking links instead of pretty buttons and Flash animation?
