Initially before I purchased my Sony Ericsson W610i, I wanted to buy the Samsung U600. I was a previous user of the Samsung E350 and it was a fantastic phone! However, I found out that sliders are not that reliable as a year later after using the E350, the slider just gave up. Although they have a 18 months warranty, what I'm afraid of was that you'll need to send in to the workshop a year later when the slider gives way again. I've used candy bars, flip phones and sliders and based on my experience, I favor candy bars the most. I believe that you should get one yourself too.
But still, the U600 is definitely a pretty gadget. Here's an overview of the phone itself:
